Secondly, I wanted to let you know, I use this blog only as a storage and reference for my main blog. I do not update this blog very often, because I use it as "storage", links, etc... Unraveling more falsehood...

I have in no way learned all I can about this... only enough to begin to see the error of my way... the error of previous generations, and that of my own generation... enough to know I have to share... with my children, and with you... what you do with it is between yourselves and YHWH... I only want to share from my heart... I have not arrived... I am a work in progress, desiring to be Set-Apart for the One True Elohim. I write today, from a heart of love... nothing more, nothing less... This was not an easy post, but one I felt I had to write.

My heart is grieved... yet His goodness leads to repentance...
May YHWH grant to us hearing ears and seeing eyes...

"O Yahweh, my strength and my stronghold and my refuge, in the day of distress the gentiles shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, “Our fathers have inherited only falsehood, futility, and there is no value in them.” 20Would a man make mighty ones for himself, which are not mighty ones? 21“Therefore see, I am causing them to know, this time I cause them to know My hand and My might. Please forgive us Father for making mighty ones to follow after, no matter how "good" we tried to make them... how "followable" we tried to make them... if they do not align with Torah, Truth, Light, they are idols...

“Do not make a covenant with them nor with their mighty ones.
³³“Let them not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me when you serve their mighty ones, when it becomes a snare to you.”

Historical Facts and Scripture...

The National Geographic Society’s book “Great Religions of the World,” page 309 writes; “By Jesus’ time, East and West had mingled here for three centuries. Down columns of boulevards walked Roman soldiers loyal to the Persian god Mithras.”

Mithras was a Persian deity, a sun god. He was also the most widely venerated god in the Roman Empire at the time of Y'shua.

1) Hundreds of years before Y'shua, according to the Mithraic religion, three Wise Men of Persia came to visit the baby savior-god Mithra, bring him gifts of gold, myrrh and frankincense.

Why is it we have said or portrayed three wise men?

{What does the Scripture say?}

"Magi from the East came to Yerushalayim,And coming into the house, they saw the Child with Miryam His mother, and fell down and did reverence to Him, and opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, and frankincense, and myrrh." ~Mattithyahu / Matt. 2:1 and 11

three gifts... not three men...

2) Mithra was born on December 25 (along with so many other false deities) as told in the “Great Religions of the World”, page 330; “…it was the winter solstice celebrated by ancients as the birthday of Mithraism’s sun god”.

Was Yeshua born in December? I think it is highly unlikely... in Yisreal during the winter, the shepherds are not in the fields of sleet and snow with their flocks. They take them home, as it is too cold to be out in the weather, especially at night...

{What does the Scriptures say?}

And in the same country there were shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. ~Luke 2:8

3) According to Mithraism, before Mithra died on a cross, he celebrated a “Last Supper with his twelve disciples, who represented the twelve signs of the zodiac.

Did Y'shua die on a cross? Let's look at the verbiage used in Torah...

And when a man has committed a sin worthy of death, then he shall be put to death and you shall hang him on a tree. ²³“Let his body not remain overnight on the tree, for you shall certainly bury him the same day – for he who is hanged is accursed of Elohim – so that you do not defile the land which your Elohim is giving you as an inheritance.~Debarim/ Duet. 21:22-23

And the Brit...

the Torah, having become a curse for us –
for it has been written, “Cursed
is everyone who hangs upon a tree.”

In Mithraismh, The sun's "followers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the Zodiac, through which the sun must pass...

in Scripture, it represents the 12 Tribes of Yisrael.

Did Yeshua eat the "Last Supper" aka "communion"?

And before the Festival of the Passover, knowing that His hour had come that He should move out

Chalice forbidden to laity at Communion (a radical distortion of the Passover Seder, the annual remembrance of Yeshua's death).

Is communion or the Pesach meal biblical?
What did Y'shua say?

"do this in remembrance of Me." ~1 Cor. 11:14

What were they doing? The Festival of Passover... was it any bread? No, it was unleavened bread... was it done every s-nday? Nope, just once a year, as a remembrance... just as Y'shua said! Are we still suppose to be doing it? Yep... throughout all our generations, as an everlasting law...

And they shall eat the flesh on that night, roasted in fire – with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

It is the Passover of .
And this day shall become to you a remembrance. And you shall observe it as a festival to throughout your generations – observe it as a festival, an
everlasting law" ~Shemoth/ Exodus 12:8,11,14

4) After the death of Mithra, his body was laid to rest in a rock tomb.

5) Mithra had a celibate priesthood.

Y'shua our High Priest

We have been sealed, awaiting the day of our redemption and the Marriage table...

At the time of our redemption, we will no longer be defiled...

And do not grieve the Set-apart Spirit of Elohim, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.~Eph. 4:30

“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him praise, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife prepared herself.” ⁸And to her it was given to be dressed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteousnesses of the set-apart ones.~Revelation 19:7-8

6) Mithra ascended into heaven during the spring (easter) equinox (the time when the sun crosses the equator making night and day of equal length).

So Y'shua ascended during the counting of the Omer, before the fiftieth day, when the promised Ruach HaKodesh was given...

The ancients recognized that (from an earth-centric perspective) the sun makes an annual descent southward until December 21 or 22, the winter solstice, when it stops moving southerly for three days and then starts to move northward again.During this time, the ancients declared that "God's sun" had "died" for three days and was "born again" on December 25. The ancients realized quite abundantly that they needed the sun to return every day and that they would be in big trouble if the sun continued to move southward and did not stop and reverse its direction. Thus, these many different cultures celebrated the "sun of God's" birthday on December 25th. The following are the characteristics of the "sun" of God:

a. The sun "dies" for three days on December 22, the winter solstice, when it stops in its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25, it resumes its movement north.
b. In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be "born of a Virgin."
c. The sun is the "Light of the World."
d. The sun "cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him."
e. The sun rising in the morning is the "Savior of mankind."
f. The sun wears a corona ("crown of thorns") or a halo.
g. The sun "walks on water."
h. The sun's "followers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the Zodiac, through which the sun must pass.
i. The sun is "crucified," which represents it's passing through the equinoxes, the vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected.

In addition, all over the world are sites where this "god" or that allegedly was born, walked, suffered, died, etc., a common occurrence that is not monopolized by, and did not originate with, Christianity. An early Christian Syrian writer (quoted in Credner's "De Natalitorium Christi Origine") wrote the following concerning the December 25 hoax: "The reason why the Church fathers transferred the celebration from January 6 to December 25, was that it was the custom of the pagans to celebrate on the same December 25 the birthday of the sun, at which time they lit lights in token of festivity, and in these rites and festivals the Christians also took part. Accordingly, when the doctors of the Church perceived that the Christians had a liking for this festival, they resolved that the true nativity should be commemorated on that day."

The Catholic Encyclopedia reported:

Mithraism A pagan religion consisting mainly of the cult of the ancient Indo-Iranian Sun-god Mithra. It entered Europe from Asia Minor after Alexander's conquest, spread rapidly over the whole Roman Empire at the beginning of our   era...The origin of the cult of Mithra dates from the           time      that the Hindus and Persians still formed one people, for the god Mithra occurs in the religion and the sacred books of both races , i.e. in the Vedas and in the Avesta. In Vedic hymns he is frequently mentioned and is nearly always coupled with Varuna, but beyond the bare occurrence of his name, little is known of him (Rigveda, III, 59). It is conjectured (Oldenberg, "Die "Religion des Veda," Berlin , 1894) that Mithra was the rising sun, Varuna the setting sun; or, Mithra, the sky at daytime, Varuna,   the sky at night; or, the one the sun, the other the moon. In any case   Mithra is a light or solar deity of some sort

Helios Mithras is one god...Sunday was kept holy in honour of Mithra...The 25 December was observed as his birthday, the natalis invicti, the rebirth of the winter-sun, unconquered by the rigours of the season.

...it is easy to understand that many of the emperors yielded to the delusion that they could unite all their subjects in the adoration of the one sun-god who combined in himself the Father-God of the Christians and the much-worshipped Mithras; thus the empire could be founded anew on unity of religion. Would it not be possible to gather all the different nationalities around his altars? Constantine may have pondered over this. Nor had he absolutely rejected the thought even after a miraculous event had strongly influenced him in favour of the God of the Christians…As pontifex maximus he watched over the heathen worship and protected its rights…It is true that the believers in Mithras also observed Sunday as well as Christmas. Consequently Constantine speaks not of the day of the Lord, but of the everlasting day of the sun.

Thus Mithraism was pagan and popular throughout the Roman Empire. It was apparently the religion of the Roman Emperor Constantine. Is it no surprise that those who trace their beliefs from the Council of Nicea that Emperor Constantine convened could have many practices associated with Mithraism?

Historians of many persuasions have been convinced that Emperor Constantine was less interested in Christianity per se than he was in unifying his Empire. Constantine's ties with Mithraism seem to suggest that he simply used the Greco-Roman churches to try to accomplish the Mithratic goal of unification.

We can not continue to mix the HOLY

Y'shua and His taught ones LOVED the Torah,
and they spent their lives trying to teach the
correct observance
to the Torah of YHWH. Y'shua did not come
to do away with the Torah... but to restore us
back to covenant with
YHWH, that we may walk in the
Way of Righteousness... Torah

christianity or
the jesus of that "religion"...
at least not what I was called out of...

Yirmeyah/ Jeremiah... all I can do in response is cry out to the Father like David...

Please, don't take my word for it... study it out for yourselves...

¹⁵Do your utmost to present yourself approved to Elohim, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of Truth.~2 TIm. 2:15

Pray for me often...Pray for each other! And let us encourage one another in the Truth, and all the more so as we see the day approaching!
May YHWH be merciful to us all, as we diligently seek Truth, and remain therein...

Wild Mint Jelly:
Wild Mint Jelly: Gather and wash mint leaves of your choice, about a pound, I like a mixture of Spearmint and Peppermint. Place in large enamel or glass pan with 2 quarts water, bring to slow boil, cover and simmer on low heat for 30 min. Strain and pour liquid back into pan, add about 3 pounds of sugar, stir until dissolved. Add 2 pkgs. of sure jell stir until dissolved. Simmer on low heat for 30 min. Pour hot, into sterile small jars, tighten lids and allow to cool, you will hear the lids (pop) as they seal, if cool and some lids did not seal, refrigerate and use them first.

A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Likewise, when people light a lamp, they don't cover it with a bowl but put it on a lampstand, so that it shines for everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven. 17 "Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. 18 Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah -- not until everything that must happen has happened. 19 So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness is far greater than that of the Torah-teachers and P'rushim, you will certainly not enter the Kingdom of Heaven!" ~Matt. 5:14-20

In an attempt to better study YHWH's Mitzvot for myself, and also those seeking to do the same, I have listed here the 613 mitzvot (taken from here.) I believe the whole Word of YHWY is for today, including the 613 commandments found in Torah. I believe the whole word is for those who genuinely love YHWH, and desire to do as He instructs. I also believe as we seek Father for understanding of His revealed will, found written for us in the Scriptures, His mitzvot will be written upon our hearts, so that we may walk uprightly before Him! For all those who desire an undivided heart, for all those seeking His ways, for all those longing to walk in His Truth... come study with me, that we may become holy as He is Holy, through the blood of Yeshua, our Messiah! For if we love Him, we will keep all of His commands!

Mitzvot

At the heart of those who love YHWH, and desire to walk in His truth are the unchangeable 613 mitzvot that YHWH gave to His people in the Torah (the first five books of the Bible). The word "mitzvah" means "commandment." I refers only to commandments instituted in the Torah.

Some of the mitzvot are clear, explicit commands in the Bible (thou shalt not murder; to write words of Torah on the doorposts of your house), others are more implicit (the mitzvah to recite grace after meals, which is inferred from "and you will eat and be satisfied and bless the L-rd your G-d"), and some can only be ascertained by logic (that a man shall not commit incest with his daughter, which is derived from the commandment not to commit incest with his daughter's daughter).

Some of the mitzvot overlap; for example, it is a positive commandment to rest on the Sabbath and a negative commandment not to do work on the Sabbath.

There are 613 mitzvot. This number is significant: it is the numeric value of the word Torah (Tav = 400, Vav = 6, Resh = 200, Heh = 5), plus 2 for the two mitzvot whose existence precedes the Torah: I am the L-rd, your G-d and You shall have no other gods before Me. There is also complete agreement that these 613 mitzvot can be broken down into 248 positive mitzvot (one for each bone and organ of the male body) and 365 negative mitzvot (one for each day of the solar year).

Many of these 613 mitzvot cannot be observed at this time for various reasons. For example, a large portion of the laws relate to sacrifices and offerings, which can only be made in the Temple, and the Temple does not exist today. Some of the laws relate to the theocratic state of Israel, its king, its supreme court, and its system of justice, and cannot be observed because the theocratic state of Israel does not exist today. In addition, some laws do not apply to all people or places. Agricultural laws only apply within the state of Israel, and certain laws only apply to kohanim or Levites. The modern scholar Rabbi Israel Meir of Radin, commonly known as the Chafetz Chayim, has identified 77 positive mitzvot and 194 negative mitzvot which can be observed outside of Israel today.

"16 Every writing inspired by Elohim is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction which is in righteousness, 17 that the man of YHWH may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." ~ 2 Tim. 3:16

Biblical New Year, Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread!

That's right... according to YHWH,

the Biblical year begins with the first New Moon after the barley in Israel reaches the stage in its ripeness called Abib.

"Daniel responded and said, “Blessed be the Name of Elah forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. ²¹“And He changes the times and the seasons. He removes sovereigns and raises up sovereigns. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who possess understanding. ²²“He reveals deep and secret matters. He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him." ~Daniel 2:20-22

Well, I am just learning, so come learn with me :D ... this video "depicts" what "Abib" is :D It is ripened barley...

(If you pause the video you can see the barley heads... 90-100% ripened, recorded on March 12,2010)

The story of the Exodus relates "This day you are going out in the the month of the Abib." (Ex 13,4).

To commemorate the day the Israelites left Egypt in the month of the Abib, we are instructed to bring the Passover sacrifice and celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Hag HaMatzot) at this time of year.

Deut.16:1 instructs us:

"Keep the month of the Abib and make the Passover (sacrifice) to YHWH your Elohim at night, because in the month of the Abib YHWH your Elohim took you out of Egypt".

and again in Ex. 23:15

"You will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread; seven days you will eat unleavened bread, as I have commanded you, at the time of the month of the Abib, because in it you went out of Egypt."

and once again in Ex. 34:18

"You will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread; seven days you will eat unleavened bread, as have I commanded you, at the time of the month of the Abib, because in the month of the Abib you went out of Egypt."

So, the command seems pretty clear... we are to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and seven days eat bread without the leaven... Why now? Not only because our Elohim said to do so, but because it commemorates the coming out of Egypt. When are we to do this? At the time of the Month of Abib... Why? Because our Elohim said to do so... what's the point? Love Yah, and do what He says!

Regardless of the fact if we were there physically coming out of Egypt in the month of Abib, or weather we have spiritually come out of Egypt, we as the people of Yah, are commanded to keep this Holy Day!

I have much to still learn about this topic... but I can not walk away from the above verses... If we truly belong to Him, won't we keep the whole of His Word... If He is our god, our Elohim who NEVER changes... is this command still not good for today? If we can so easily dismiss this command, then we must dismiss them all... For He is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever!!! So, I understand that to mean, we will be celebrating this Feast, (as well as the others :D ) forever! All of the Biblical Holy Days begin at sunset on the day and continue for 24 hours until sunset on the following day. This goes back to the creation week. There was Evening and Morning the first day... etc...

Paul explains in Colossians 2:17 that Elohim's weekly Sabbath day and sacred festivals are "a shadow of things to come" (verse 17). Many think he was saying this to demean them and show why they are unnecessary for Christians. I thought so also, not so long ago. But the reality is just the opposite. Paul was acknowledging their abiding significance for us.

In the Greek language the word mello, translated "to come," is a present active participle. It explicitly points to events yet future. According to The Complete Word Study Dictionary: New Testament, mello means "to be about to do or suffer something, to be at the point of, to be impending" (Spiros Zodhiates, 1992, p. 956). Vine's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words explains its meaning as "to be about (to do something), often implying the necessity and therefore the certainty of what is to take place" (1985, "Come, Came," p. 109).

Paul is saying that the Sabbath and Holy Days, which the Colossians celebrated by feasting according to biblical instruction, had been given by YHWH to foreshadow future events-things yet to come. The grammar of Paul's statement requires this meaning.

When Elohim first commanded that these "feasts of the Lord" be observed (Leviticus 23:2-4), each event they foreshadowed was still in the future. Even today, most of the events foreshadowed by these festivals are yet to be fulfilled in YHWH's plan.

These sacred days have always foreshadowed YHWH's promises to intervene in human affairs through Yeshusa Messiah. They signify the fulfillment of His plan to offer salvation to all of humankind through Yeshua Messiah. Therefore, their themes and symbolism are unequivocally for all who accept His salvation and obey His commands. In other words, they are for all who love Him... Really search it out for yourself! Let no man lead you astray, only let Him lead you in the paths of righteousness. Wherever HE leads you, follow!

The expected day for this Holy Day is at sundown March 17th (Wed.) (2010)

None of us will be able to keep these days or His other commands perfectly, and that is what makes grace so sweet. If we were able to, why would we be in need of grace? We wouldn't...Grace isn't a cover up, Yeshua does that for us, as our Passover Lamb (which we will celebrate March 30). Grace is the enablement to live a life Holy before our Elohim. Mercy, gives us not what we deserve! So, we do this not get gain salvation, but because of salvation... not to be redeemed, but because we are His redeemed... it is out of great gratitude and love that we walk in grace and mercy, becoming Holy as He is Holy.

We are learning to walk in His ways, as we continue to seek Truth!

"Teach me Your ways, O YHWH, that I may walk in Your Truth; unite my heart to fear Your name."

~Ps. 86:11

Grant me an undivided heart oh, Yah, that I may walk in Your truth, as You teach me Your ways. For Your ways are not my ways, nor Your thoughts as those of mine own... May I always be a willing hearted student of Yeshua Messiah! And you also!

Passover, or Pesach...

So as we learn about it in depth this week, I thought I would share a few of the resources we will be using to aid us in our studies :D

The primary observances of Pesach are related to the Exodus from Egypt after generations of slavery. This story is told in Exodus, Ch. 1-15. Many of the Pesach observances are instituted in Ch. 12-15.

We will do this beautiful lapbook as we study Passover this week.

What does this Scripture say to you? To me I understand that the children of Yahweh (as in all trying to live uprightly before Him, those who were of the light... neither jew nor gentile) were really keeping the Feast of Unleavened Bread with unleavened bread in the New Testament...

In 1 Corinthians 5:6-8. Verse 6, Your glorying is not good; know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Verse 7 states, Purge out therefore the old leaven that ye may be a new lump, AS YOU ARE UNLEAVENED. For even Yeshua our Passover is sacrificed for us: verse 8, Therefore let us KEEP THE FEAST not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

It all begins with some scripture from the Word of YHWH...

Ex 12:19-20
19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for    whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off    from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in    the land. 20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations    shall ye eat unleavened bread.

Ex 13:7
7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no    leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen    with thee in all thy quarters.

This putting out of the leaven is a physical action [a living metaphor    or model] that denotes a spiritual process. That process is the    putting of sin out of our lives. Notice scriptures from the Renewed Covenant (as in refreshed, not redone testament) showing this to be truth.

1 Cor 5:7-8
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye     are unleavened. For even Yeshua our passover is sacrificed for us:
   8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the    leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of    sincerity and truth.

Gal 5:9
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

Therefore, the practice or ritual of putting out leaven teaches us about    the spiritual concept of putting sin out of our lives. Eating the    unleavened bread is a physical picture showing the spiritual concept of    putting Yeshua Messiah into us. Sin out and Salvation in.

Festival of First Fruits

The fifteenth of Nisan begins Hag HaMatzah (the Feast of Unleavened Bread), which is a high sabbath, a shabbaton. It is a seven day feast to YHWH. The day following the sabbath during Passover is called the Feast of First Fruits (Leviticus [Vayikra] 23:10-11). The Feast of First Fruits can be found in Leviticus (Vayikra) 23:9-14, as it is written:
Then the YHWH spoke to Moses, saying, "Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'When you enter the land which I am going to give to you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring in the sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest. And he shall wave the sheaf before YHWH for you to be accepted; on the day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. Now on the day when you wave the sheaf you shall offer a male lamb one year old without defect for a burnt offering to YHWH. Its grain offering shall then be two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil an offering by fire to the YHWH for a soothing aroma, with its libation, a fourth of a hin of wine. Until this same day, until you have brought in the offering of your Elohim , you shall eat neither bread nor roasted grain nor new growth.
It is to be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places' " ~Leviticus 23:9-14

Yeshua Is the First Fruits

Yeshua is the firstborn of Miryam (Mary) (Matthew 1:23-25).
Yeshua is the first-begotten of YHWH the Father (Hebrews 1:6).
Yeshua is the firstborn of every creature (Colossians 1:15).
Yeshua is the first-begotten from the dead (Revelation 1:5).
Yeshua is the firstborn of many brethren (Romans 8:29).
Yeshua is the first fruits of the resurrected ones (1 Corinthians 15:20,23).
Yeshua is the beginning of the creation of YHWH (Revelation 3:14).
Yeshua is the preeminent One (Colossians 1:18).

Yeshua is indeed the Most Holy One of YHWH and is sanctified by the Father. Yeshua is the first, the choicest, the preeminent One. He is both the firstborn of YHWH and the first fruits unto YHWH. Yeshua is the sheaf of the first fruits.

The festival of the sheaf of the first fruits is prophetic of the resurrection of Yeshua. Yeshua prophesied that He would rise three days and nights after He was slain on the tree (Matthew [Mattityahu 12:38-40; 16:21; Luke 24:44-46). This was foreshadowed to happen in the Tanach (Old Testament) by type and shadow (Genesis [Bereishit] 22:1-6; Exodus [Shemot] 3:18; 5:3; 8:27; Esther 4:15-17; Jonah 1:7; 2:1-2).

Since Yeshua was slain on the tree on the day of Passover (Pesach), the fourteenth of Nisan, and He arose from the grave three days and nights after He was slain, Yeshua arose from the grave on the seventeenth of Nisan, the day of the festival of First Fruits. This day would be the day after the weekly sabbath during the week of Passover (Mark 16:1-6). In fact, Yeshua is called the first fruits of those who rise from the dead.

But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Messiah all shall be made alive. But each in his own order: Messiah the firstfruits, after that those who are Messiah's at His coming.

Messiah's resurrection is worthy of celebration. His raising from the dead marks a pivotal point in history, and has nothing to do with eggs nor bunnies...

As the weekend of this festival approaches, where many will celebrate the resurrection of our Messiah, we would do well to remember this special day that speaks of mankind's greatest hope!

Father, I pray you would teach me to celebrate it based o its shadow beginning, as described in Torah. (Lev. 23:10-15, Colossians 2:17, Hebrews 10:1) I have much to learn about this most important day... Yom HaBikkurim, The Day of First Fruits... please, keep me teachable, as You create in me a pure heart, a heart that longs to worship and obey You in Spirit and Truth... Your ways, not my own ways! Please, grant us your grace and mercy to be firmly rooted in You, that we might be built up, healthy, established in the faith... as we desire to become Your Bride... Have Your ways in our hearts and homes this most wonderfully filled with hope weekend... may we seek Your face, and continue to run the race with steady, unwavering feet, as we walk in Your truth!

Shavuot! Feast of Weeks!

Remembering the giving of the commandments, as well as Pentecost
The physical written instructions as well as those very instructions being written in the hearts of those that belong to YHWH.

I have been doing a study on the Counting of the Omer. This is what I understand from Scripture. The counting is a forever law, through all our generations. However, unlike Pesach and The Festival of Unleavened Bread, we are not given a specific date, only how to count to arrive at the date, to observe Shavuot. I believe that it is because it will vary from year to year, and depends on when the harvest is ripe and ready to be harvested. I also believe it is an agricultural observance. Much like the New Moon Observance, and the New Year Observance, we are to look to Yahweh for His appointed times. This is what I have found SO FAR...

I am also considering that we are not to wave the loaves, because we are not Kohen. The priest is to wave for our acceptance. Yeshua is our High Priest...also, we have no present temple, and we are not in the land, as of yet. So, though we can not keep the commandment perfectly, we no less, need to observe it to the best of our ability and understanding, because of our great love for Father and our Messiah, Yeshua =) He said it is a forever law... forever has not, nor will it ever end!

How are we to count?

Lev. 23:9-15 "And Yahweh spoke to Mosheh, saying, 10“Speak to the children of Yisra’el, and you shall say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I give you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest to the priest. 11‘And he shall wave the sheaf before Yahweh, for your acceptance. On the morrow after the Sabbath the priest waves it. 12‘And on that day when you wave the sheaf, you shall prepare a male lamb a year old, a perfect one, as a burnt offering to Yahweh, 13and its grain offering: two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to Yahweh, a sweet fragrance, and its drink offering: one- fourth of a hin of wine. 14‘And you do not eat bread or roasted grain or fresh grain until the same day that you have brought an offering to your Elohim – a law forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 15‘And from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, you shall count for yourselves: seven completed Sabbaths. 16‘Until the morrow after the seventh Sabbath you count fifty days, then you shall bring a new grain offering to Yahweh."

Also we do not bring the lamb, the grain, or the drink offering... why? Why would we do part and not the other... just something to think about. This is why I am considering that we are not to bring the loaves and wave them...

When do we start counting?

Duet. 16:9-10 "Count seven weeks for yourself. Begin to count seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the grain. 10“And you shall perform the Festival of Weeks to Yahweh your Elohim, according tothe voluntary offering from your hand, which you give as Yahweh your Elohim blesses you."

How did Israel observe, once entering the land?

Joshua 5:10-12 "And the children of Yisra’el camped in Gilgal, and performed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at evening on the desert plains of Yeriho. 11And they ate of the stored grain of the land on the morrow after the Passover, unleavened bread and roasted grain on this same day. 12And the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the stored grain of the land. And the children of Yisra’el no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Kena'an that year. "

They must have already made their offering, in order for the manna to stop, and to eat of the bread, according to the verse in Lev. 23:14. Yahweh controlled the manna, and it is clear they went on to eat of the land, so therefore, they must have already made the appropriate, proper offering.

How to bring grain offering?

Lev. 2:14 "And if you bring a grain offering of your first-fruits to Yahweh, bring for the grain offering of your first-fruits green heads of grain roasted on the fire, crushed heads of new grain." Anyone who gardens or farms will tell you, when it is ripe ready, it must be harvested, or before too long, it will not be good for anything.

When is the grain ready to harvest?

Mark 4:28-29 "For the soil yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the completed grain in the head. And when the crop is ready, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come."

Harvest-Ripe Barley in the Jordan Valley

This morning (Mar 30, 2010) I did a follow-up of the barley in the Jordan Valley

that was Aviv on March 17. The barley in two fields, south of Nakhal Milkha and

just north of the Israeli army checkpoint, was completely harvest-ripe. This

means the barley harvest could officially begin this coming Sunday, the morrow

after the Sabbath during the Feast of Unleavened Bread as per Deuteronomy 16:9.

In Temple times, the first Omer (sheaf) of this harvest would be brought as the

wave-sheaf offering commanded in Leviticus 23:10. A video of the field of 6-row

This confirms that the Chag HaMatzot (Feast of Unleavened Bread) will begin at

sunset tomorrow night, March 31, 2010.

So, I understand that the Aviv was spotted on March 17 (in Israel, the land). It was ready to begin harvest, because it was ripe, March 30. We are to put the sickle to the harvest the morrow after Shabbat (in Hebrew, the only day referred to as Shabbat, is the 7 day Shabbat, all others are referred to as holy convocations, or set apart gathering, or no servitude work days) this would be April 4. Then counting 7 full Shabbats as being May evening 21-22. Plus one (50 days), being evening May 22-23. {Biblical day is sundown to sundown.}

Purely Agricultural... Looking to Yahweh, for it is He who controls all the seasons,

that produce the harvest.

It will be interesting to see when next years barley is ripe ready =)

In this passage of Scripture, we are told three times this day is Set-Apart! Though we

long for the day when we will be in the full Presence of our Messiah and King, with all Mishpokha to celebrate the FOREVER feast perfectly, we can set this day apart unto Yahweh, our Elohim, and rejoice in Him! I pray you all have a beautiful time of remembering and making noise unto Him who is the Only Good One, unto Him, who is the Only Worthy One of our praise!

You can make a sukkah hat using an empty berry basket. Cut a door. We use grapevine or then bamboo to weave into the roof and ribbon, garden trimmings and fruit and vegetable stickers for the sides. Add ribbon ties and wear as a hat or tape onto a piece of tagboard for a table decoration.

Take a big empty appliance box. set in on a drop cloth have the children one day sponge paint it. Another day sticker it. Place glitter on it.... then cut a door into it and collect branches on top to make it into a sukkah then place near your dramatic play area and let the children play in their own sukkah!

Sukkot Decorations - make a bumble bee for your sukkot! Have kids paint a toilet paper roll yellow. Precut little black dots for kids to glue on or you could use precut black stripes. Either one is fine. Precut wings and have them glue them on. Hole punch the bees and let them hang!

"Links Through Time" Paper chains can be made by cutting construction paper into 1" strips and connecting them in loops to each other with a stapler/glue or tape. Either draw a picture of Patriarchs or write their names one for each chain... then add your family to the "Links through Time."

Photo copy a picture of fruit, staple together the paper with fruit on either side. Have the children decorate both sides of the paper, cut around the fruit, then stuff with tissue and staple together. Hang with string!
Take a plastic cover from a bread crumb tin or other type of tin drum. The children fill it with glue and then place in it sequins, buttons, etc. Also attach one end of a ribbon. when dry, take it out and allow other side to dry. Then, use the ribbon to tie it up in the sukkah. it is a sun catcher! Warning; It takes a long time to dry. Don't leave it to the last minute.
Make Sukkot flags: either color the Torah, or Israel or write Scripture on them and take a piece of construction paper and glue it on the back of our flag and cut 2 little slits down the left side of the flag and stick kabob skewers through them as there poles.
Hanging fruit craft for your Sukkah:
Cut out large fruit shapes from construction paper, have children stamp using real fruit. Cut fruit in half, put a popsicle stick on top for handle, and dip in paint. (Example: use red paint and 1/2 apple w/apple cut out) Laminate, punch hole on top, hang from your Sukkah using yarn.

First, even though Hanukkah is NOT listed as one of the 7 Biblical holy days, it IS in the Bible and its occasion is validated…..usually under the name of Feast of Lights, or Feast of Dedication. And we know for a fact that Yeshua, celebrated Hanukkah, because we’re told the story of the trip he made from his home in Galilee to Jerusalem to be a part of that joyous celebration. Further, He used Kislev 25th (Hanukkah) to make a startling statement that is so important to all of us, but also insured that he would not survive too much longer.

Hanukkah was a re-dedication of the Holy Temple from a place of pagan ritual to worship of the YHWH. What is Kosher anyway?

The Hebrew word kosher means "fit." The kosher laws define the foods that are fit for consumption.

The kosher laws were commanded by YHWH to the Children of Israel in the Sinai desert. Moses taught them to the people and wrote the basics of these laws in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14.

Why keep Kosher?

Keeping kosher is a mitzvah (command), a divine "commandment" and "connection." We eat kosher because YHWH commanded us to. Simply put, because we love Him, and do what He says.

We are structured in the sense that I have educational objectives each week & throughout the year, but I am flexible in how those goals are met. I consider us to be eclectic because I focus on how my children best learn, & I have no loyalty to a specific method, publisher, or curriculum. I believe many concepts (especially in the younger years) can be mastered through a wide variety of resources.
I enjoy studying the Scriptures, spending time with my family, learning with my kids, watching football with my hubby, encouraging others, star gazing, Google Earth, nature trails, nature journaling, history, science, scrapbooking, a good book by the fireplace, writing poetry, and encouraging others.
I believe life is preparation for something beyond comprehension, to grand for words. So I will learn what I can, and love with the best that is in me, and be as transparent as possible during my sanctification!

I Believe

The sole basis of my belief is The Scriptures, consisting of both the “Old Covenant” [the Tenakh: the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings] (The Old Testament) and the “Renewed Covenant” [Brit Chadashah] (The New Testament) make up a single unit, which is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of YHWH.

Statement of Faith

This is an effort to establish a more thorough Statement of Faith: a.The Creator of all things has revealed Himself to His creation through His personal Name YHWH (or YHVH) and His title Elohim (God). He has revealed that in His divine nature He is an inseparable union; YHWH is One (Echad) and there is only one YHWH. ("Hear, O Israel: YHWH the Lord is our Elohim (God). He is One YHWH. He alone is YHWH." Deuteronomy 6:4)

And yet the one YHWH has manifest Himself to mankind in three divine forms: Abba [the Father], Yeshua [literally “Salvation,” the Son] and Ruach HaKodesh [the 'set-apart' (or 'H-ly') Spirit, literally “Breath”]. Yet all three manifestations of YHWH are One (echad) and have but one Name. (“ The Name [singular] of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19)

The Scriptures, consisting of both the “Old Covenant” [the Tenakh: the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings] and the “Renewed Covenant” [Brit Chadashah] make up a single unit, which is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of YHWH. (“All Scripture is given by the Ruach [Breath or Spirit] of Elohim [God], and is to be used for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16)

Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah of Israel, the Savior of the world. He is YHWH who came in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:16). He was born of a virgin (Luke 1:34) and lived a sinless and Torah-observant life. He died an atoning death as the full and complete payment of our sin debt to God (1 John 4:10), was resurrected from the dead (1 Cor. 15:4), ascended to the right hand of Abba, the Father (Mark 16:19), and now is glorified with all power in Heaven and in Earth (John 1:12-14). He will return physically as King of kings and Lord of lords to rule and reign over the earth from the throne of His father David [in Jerusalem]. (Zech. 14; Acts 1:9-11, Rev. 19:11-16)

All have sinned (transgressed the holy Torah [revealed will/Law] of God) and stand condemned before Him, and need the salvation provided by the Chesed (kindness, or 'grace') of YHWH through the atoning work of Yeshua as our final and ultimate Passover Lamb. (Ps. 14:1-3; Rom. 3:23)

All who repent and believe that Yeshua is the promised Messiah, YHWH come in the flesh, Who died as our Passover Lamb and rose again, are forgiven their sins and come into a renewed covenant with YHWH through Yeshua, and therefore become inheritors of all the unconditional promises that YHWH made with Abraham and Israel. (Romans 10:9-11, 1 Corinthians 5:7) [This requires not simple intellectual acquiescence to the historical facts, but a total and child-like faith and trust that Yeshua was exactly Who He claimed to be and that He will do exactly what He has promised to do. This kind of faith, coupled with true repentance complete (teshuva - a turning around) will produce the evidence of an appropriate lifestyle of Mitzvot (righteous works). See James 2:14-26.]

Ruach HaKodesh [the Holy Spirit] permanently dwells within all true believers to lead, guide, teach, comfort, and empower us to live a righteous life and to minister to the Kahal [the Ekklesia, or “Called-Out Ones”] as a royal priesthood of believers. (John 14:26; 1 Tim. 1:7; 1 Cor. 14:26; Acts 2:4; 1 Cor. 12: 1-13, Rom. 12:3-21; Eph. 1:13; 1 Pet. 2:5)

The promise of a faithful trust in Yeshua is resurrection from the dead, eternal life, a place in the world to come (olam haba) and ruling with Yeshua forever in the place where His Kingdom will rule. Yeshua will soon rule in Jerusalem, and finally in New Jerusalem in the New Creation forever. (John 5:28-29; Rev. 19-22, especially 20:11-15)

The penalty awaiting those who reject Yeshua and Torah is eternal separation from YHWH into outer darkness and eternal punishment. (Matt. 25:31-46, Rev. 20)

The final Divine Plan for Israel is to bring the remnant of Judah, who are the faithful Jewish people, and the remnant of those who were formally Gentiles, but who have been recovered from the world by faith, back together and united into one holy nation of Israel under one Shepherd, namely Yeshua, the Messiah. This is a necessary part of the restoration of all things spoken by the prophets. (Ezek. 37, Hosea 1-2, Rom. 9:26, Acts 3:21) k. The Shabbat [Sabbath], the seventh day of the week, is the created holy day of YHWH (not just of Israel), which He gave to mankind and covenanted with His people as a sign forever. (Exod. 31:12-16, Gen. 2:2-3, Isa. 58:13-14, Matt. 12:8) Nowhere in the “New Testament” is either the Fourth Commandment (Exod. 20:8-11) either repealed or changed. They are only amplified and explained.

The entire Torah of YHWH, both “Old” and “Renewed” Covenants, is the instruction of a loving and gracious Father to His children. It is the perfect and unchanging law that gives us liberty (Ps. 119:44-45; James 2:24-26). I see the Bible as one, continuous entity, as opposed to two separate Testaments in which one supersedes the other. I realize that our Savior, Yeshua, was a Torah observant, tallit wearing, synagogue attending, feast-keeping, kosher Jew, and I therefore try to view the entire Bible through a Hebrew mindset and adhere to HIS teachings instead of allowing myself to be swayed by man's opinions. I believe that Yeshua was God-Come-in-the-Flesh! ; that He was predicted by, and succeeded, Moses; that He was foreshadowed throughout the Tanach ("Old Testament"); and that He did NOT abolish the Law/Torah, as He clearly stated in Matthew 5:17-18.Because YHWH's Divine Instructions had many "forever" commands, and "forever" hasn't ended yet! Man has no right to ignore Torah or Yeshua, and come up with his own theology and own "religious holidays"! His Torah (instruction) has never changed. "Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89)." YHWH's provisions have not changed; the penalty for disobedience has not changed; and His promises have not changed. Yeshua Himself said He was here ONLY to do His Father's will; not negate His Father's will or abolish His "forever" commands: (Matt 5:17-20). YHWH’s people delight in His instruction (Ps. 1:2). The Torah was not given for salvation. It is the loving instruction of how a redeemed people should live. Yeshua kept His Fathers commandments and lived in His love. We are instructed to walk as He walked (1 Jn. 2:3-6). Though I am a vapor, in need of a Messiah, I trust in my Redeemer, and His Set Apart Spirit, to lead me and guide me, and strengthen me, as I am being purified for my Bride Groom, Yeshua... in need of much grace, not for a cover up, but for an enablement to live righteously before my Elohim. I have not arrived yet. I am continuing to work out my salvation with fear and trembling. And I want to share a few sites that have aided my study. ***However, it is of utmost importance, that you seek it out, and study for yourselves. Balancing all things according to the Living Word of YHWH, The Holy Scriptures!

The entire Torah of YHWH, both “Old” and “Renewed” Covenants, is the instruction of a loving and gracious Father to His children. It is the perfect and unchanging law that gives us liberty (Ps. 119:44-45; James 2:24-26). Nothing will pass from the Word of Yah, until everything that will happen, has happened. (Matt 5:17-20). YHWH’s people delight in His instruction (Ps. 1:2). The Torah was not given for salvation. It is the loving instruction of how a redeemed people should live. Yeshua kept His Fathers commandments and lived in His love. We are instructed to walk as He walked (1 Jn. 2:3-6). We are to obey YHWH’s commandments and to hold to the testimony of Yeshua (Rev. 12:17).

Also, it is important to know I gleam from these sites, but that does not ALWAYS mean I am in one accord. Only when I see in the Scriptures for myself, and understanding is given me through the Set Apart Spirit of Elohim :D
